Obstacle Monitoring

AIR RULE

It is critical to maintain an accurate 3D database of obstacles with online monitoring on a periodic basis to be able to design new procedures and improve upon earlier ones.

The advantages being:

  1. To be able to identify the ‘Controlling Obstacle’ accurately. Also to establish if the Controlling Obstacle has changed over the years.
  2. To be able to identify and check any clusters of High-rise obstacles which could become a large obstacle.
  3. To prepare a distance vs height profile of all the obstacles penetrating the OLS surfaces and to check if they violate the penetration criteria as laid out in the GSR 751 (E) Guidelines.
  4. To overlay the permissible FSI map over the 3D database to check violations if any.
